Hey guys are u still not convinced as in where to go and what to choose lets see technically how much i can satisfy you.

Performance

Don't u think that your computer has started demanding a lot. loads and loads of drivers to keep track of each and every time u want to do anything u want the driver.At least what you need to run a Microsoft vista over your computer is a 1 GB RAM and apart from that you need a good enough of a graphics card as well. But believe me LINUX is much faster and better graphics than your adorable vista that run on low configuration as well

Updates

Well talking about updates when do you think that u last updated your operating system .Probably 3 -4 years ago right?? and since then you have been working on the very same operating system,with same problem faced out again and again .Hold on Ubuntu releases its update every 6 months with previous errors fixed up(that normally are none :)).

Installation

Supposedly u want to install any software into windows what is the normal procedure . u Google your need and then check which is the best option u have available and then go for that and there are cases when you after the whole installation come to know that the version u have installed is just a demo version and u need to buy it to make use of it.What if some one is there for u to search the best option with no ifs and butts,wont it had been great .I don't need to say it again because Ubuntu does that for you.Linux offers a Universal Repository for you to access best option avaialable.

Application apart from the main System

Windows offers you with the latest version of Internet Explorer, a calculator,a note-pad and some basic basic requirements .now here comes Hardy with the most efficient Explorer FireFox,Gimp,Rhythm Box ,an Open office,don't u think this is amazing

Cost

I know this is not much of a concern if we go on to performance for the professionals, but u really cant neglect this factor straight away,buying a Windows would cost you somewhere around say 150$(6000Rs) and that is just for the Operating System apart from that then u need other software as well,which would again cost u a lot,but since Ubuntu is an open source u don't need to do anything no more piracy . And still ball remains in your court to decide upon

Community

Ubuntu stands for humanity to others. The Ubuntu community can help me answer any questions I have or solve any problems within one day. Thats a very quick response time, and the amount of knowledge in the forums, wiki’s, and blogosphere is astounding. I learn more and more every day. Granted, there are lots of Windows help on the internet, but nowhere is it as close to being streamlined as the Ubuntu team.

Protection

This is amongst one of the main concerns while working on any of the windows . You need to continuously update your anti virus with the latest virus definitions because viruses are being developed at the speed of infinity ,so u don't have any better option.
This was one side of coin widen your imagination and think what if there was nothing called as virus. Your operating system was strong enough to handle it out.Must be sounding a bit of astonishing to you ,and here i introduce you to one more advantage of LINUX. no need for an antivirus its very robust and secure that there is hardly any need for a antivirus in your computer

I think after all this discussion i think u must have decided what is better and why is it so.The ball remains in your court because it you who have to decide which one is better,with logical reason

Economy Wise

As per the present scenario where MICROSOFT rates his latest Windows VISTA for around $150 ,UBUNTU on the other hand makes it for free to each and everyone . u just need to download the .iso format from www.ubuntu.com and there you are with the latest version in your desktop

Viruses

As you know the Windows operating system allows application programs to access to system files. This makes viruses spread over the whole system easily to do damage on your system. Linux is strict with its permissions. A virus cannot gain the necessary privileges to destroy your system unless you want to do as a super user. In order words, your system files are protected at the high level. That is the reason why most of Linux users don't need a virus protection

Graphical User Interface (GUI)

I don't think there is much to say regarding the graphics and visualisation effects of ubuntu on comparison with windows.Here are some videos for u ,so as to decide upon your own which one is better .
